WORD PROCESSOR

WORD PROCESSOR:

A word processor is a text manipulation tool with some advanced features such as the ability to format text with different styles. Modern word processors such as Microsoft Word go well beyond, offering integrated spelling checks and correction, grammar checking, automatic formatting, the ability to create tables, lists, insert headers and footers, automatic page numbers, etc. A word processor is a device or computer program that provides for input, editing, formatting, and output of text, often with some additional features. Early word processors were stand-alone devices dedicated to the function, but current word processors are word processor programs running on general purpose computers. The functions of a word processor program fall somewhere between those of a simple text editor and a fully functioned desktop publishing program. However, the distinctions between these three have changed over time and were unclear after 2010.Word processors hide the formatting code from the user and display the page as it will appear in print. This is called WYSIWUG (what you see is what you get) editing.
